YouTube video inspirations

I've copied a few YouTube video links here from my SDS blogsite... videos that may inspire or provoke thought in a number of disABILITY areas. New to IRIS

Who else here is new to IRIS?  Just figuring it out in the next coming weeks on what I might be able to use it for.  Maybe I can get funding for a communication device like I used at school when out in the community, kinda like an I-touch.

Maybe I can go to camp next summer.  I miss being able to go to the Lions camp.  I went there for the last 4 yrs and it was so much fun.

Been doin' it most of my life and I love what I do. Now that I've figured out where my original post "disappeared" to, I'll repost it here. And I'll reiterate my thanks to all who…

Move to Improve-World Arthritis Day

Movement may seem counterintuitive when a person has arthritis but it is actually some of the best prevention there is.  Ever feel stiff after sitting for a long time? Movement increases circulation and joint flexibility which can potentially diminish the effects of arthritic pain.  According to the Mayo Clinic, “Swimming or water aerobics is often a good choice because the buoyancy of the water reduces stress on weight-bearing joints.” This week is World Arthritis Day and here is a…

Green County Caregiver Survey

The Green County Caregiver Coalition is asking all caregivers to share their needs on an online survey today until November 30th. This only takes ten minutes and will help the Green County Caregiver Coalition indentify:

  • Who are the family caregivers in Green County?
  • What services and resources are the family caregivers currently using or needing?
  • How family caregiving is affecting residents and how can the coalition help?

For the full…
