why, who and why?

I understand that there needs to be regulations in place. But it is becoming so hard for the participants to use their funding for their needs that they are going without. There are new regulations put into place (what feels like daily) by whom? Who decided that some person or persons needed to be hired to call new participants and tell them nothing more than they will be contacted the following week by someone else? Wasteful state spending. Who decided that IRIS should feed…

War Won Against Nonexistent Rule

Before you read the rest of this article I would strongly recommend reading my original complaint letter on IRIS paying for me to go to educational conferences regarding advocacy.  And how unreasonable the reviewer was being for approving my plan.

Basically there was no rule saying I had…

Website Fees Denial

I recently did a story about my Denial of iris paying for a website fees for the website Disability Voice.  They denied paying even though they Paid for 2010 and 2011.  I thought this was helping to complete a goal which is to help others. After talking with some friends and someone at Health Services Wisconsin I decided to pay it myself and find other payment through maybe some kind of grants somewhere.  Luckily some website production jobs came along and allowed me to pay off my Credit…

Eagle Roundup

Eagle Days in the Sauk area were a success.

We had great weather and though it was warm the eagles were still around and active.

One day I spotted 23 eagles just between the VFW park and the Dam.

The Live Raptor show was "sold out" the tickets are free but we were a full house, because I volunteered that day I was able to sneek one of my participants and a caregiver in!

Four live eagles were released back to nature.

Greetings to everyone!

Sometimes the most difficult part about anyone’s role is finding various resources to get participants more connected to their community either to contribute a valuable skill, or to attempt to receive services from someone with a valuable skill so they can live richer and awesome lives. The ability to connect people to resources is heavily dependent on the person’s knowledge base and years of service in a related field; however, I am here to write to you about…

Another listening session

Hi everyone,

Just got back from another listening session. Again I must comment on how these sessions are really making a difference in how IRIS is handling all of the people coming into the fold. All of the reps there tonight were very open to all of the ideas, complaints and general chit chat that was being thrown around. I want to take this time to say THANK YOU to each and every one of you for spending your evening listening to us. Things on our side have been very good with just…
